Evaluation of the Canadian Sport Helpline and Investigation Unit Pilot Projects

Montréal (Québec) – The Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC) announces the publication of the Canadian Sport Helpline and Investigation Unit pilot projects evaluation report. Prairie Research Associates Inc. (PRA), an independent national research and evaluation firm, was retained by the SDRCC in the fall of 2019 to conduct the evaluation.

The conclusions and recommendations formulated by PRA are informed by a five-month long research which included thorough document and data review, interviews with key stakeholders of the Canadian sport community and focus groups with actors involved in the pilot projects.

“The quality of the report is very impressive and we are thankful to all those who took part in the evaluation process for their invaluable feedback”, declared Marie-Claude Asselin, Chief Executive Officer of the SDRCC. Given the positive conclusions of PRA, the SDRCC intends to maintain in place the two projects beyond March 31, 2020, while it awaits confirmation of funding for the new fiscal year. “We are eager to implement the recommendations formulated by PRA to improve the services offered by the Canadian Sport Helpline and the Investigation Unit,” she added.

The full report is available in both official languages on the home page of the SDRCC website at www.crdsc-sdrcc.ca, in its News section.
