OVERVIEW – EDUCATION
Education is, without a doubt, the cornerstone of curbing abuse and harassment in sport.
The Abuse-Free Sport program includes education and prevention initiatives that are beneficial and available to all, no matter the sport, the level or the role of the individual.
Our approach is collaborative; we aim to facilitate consistent messaging across the sport system, and where relevant, align education and training to the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS).
To accomplish this, we have developed the following programs and initiatives:
1. Abuse-Free Sport Education Accreditation Program
National accreditation standards allow for access to quality education and training programs that disseminate consistent safe sport messaging.
2. Abuse-Free Sport Education Library
A searchable database of accredited safe sport programs and trainings available to the public.
3. Abuse-Free Sport Research Grant Program
Investment in safe sport research improves the development of effective policies, processes and practices that enhance the sport experience for everyone.
4. An Introduction to the UCCMS
This interactive resource introduces some core concepts of the UCCMS to help better understand the rights and responsibilities we all share in sport.
5. Abuse-Free Sport Policy Support
