Description:
An engaging and interactive workshop designed for all sport stakeholders—including coaches, administrators, officials, parents, athletes, and board members. This session provides participants with a foundational understanding of anti-racism literacy, an overview of the current state of racism in sport across Canada, and practical tools and strategies for actively practicing anti-racism within sport environments. To support ongoing learning and deeper engagement, each participant will receive a comprehensive workbook to accompany the workshop experience.
Content standards addressed:
A. Definitions, descriptions and examples of prohibited behaviour as outlined in the UCCMS;
B. Signs and symptoms of the various types of maltreatment;
D. Scope of application of the UCCMS to Canadian sport; and
E. Clearly defined roles and responsibilities clearly defined for those with direct participant contact, including participants, and those with no direct participant contact.
